Remember when Jesus told his disciples to pull up their pant leg and blindfold themselves while Jesus held a dagger to their throats threatening them death if they revealed his word? Of course not, because it never happened. However, what was just described is exactly the ritual that takes place upon becoming a freemason. Yet despite this ungodly initiation many “christians” continue to participate attempting to justify their affiliations. This raises a critical question: how does this association truly glorify God's word or advance His kingdom? We are called to be the light in the darkness, yet the practices and beliefs within these secret societies often stand in stark contrast to that calling. These groups frequently engage in rituals and initiations steeped in secrecy, often centered around esoteric knowledge that can be considered forbidden or contrary to scriptural teachings. Such knowledge may promise enlightenment or power, but it often leads individuals away from the foundational truths of faith, potentially placing them in moral and spiritual conflict. Moreover, the allure of exclusivity and hidden wisdom can distract from the openness and transparency that characterize a genuine faith community. In this sense, we must continually examine whether our affiliations align with our call to be bearers of light and agents of His kingdom.
