Russia is planning a tenfold increase in UAV production in 2024 compared to last year

About 140,000 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were delivered to the Armed Forces in 2023. This year, UAV production is set to increase significantly — specifically, almost tenfold. In addition, we are broadening the range of available unmanned systems, creating unmanned boats <...> and multi-purpose robotic platforms. Most of these will be sent to the troops at the contact line.

Our country has always taken pride in its defence industry – our weapon designers, engineers, workers, and managers who have always helped our troops defeat the enemy and made a significant contribution to Russia's security and defence capabilities by creating unique weapons and equipment.

Ahead of Gunsmith Day, the President chaired a meeting on the development of the Russian Armed Forces in the conditions of the special military operation The meeting was held via videoconference and focused on the issues related to strengthening and enhancing the Russian Armed Forces' combat efficiency amidst the special military operation.

We pay considerable attention to providing new equipment for the Army and the Navy, which involves efforts to modernise and upgrade weaponry and vehicles already in service as well as the work to develop advanced high-tech models, with due consideration of the experience our troops have gained during the special military operation. This experience is extensively studied at our design bureaus and specialised research institutions.

In continuation of his working trip to St Petersburg, Vladimir Putin held a meeting with newly elected regional heads at the Constantine Palace The President spoke to heads of Russia's constituent entities elected during the single election day on September 6–8, 2024.

The elections were held in the spirit of open competition and, what is especially important, turnout was high — moreover, it was the highest in the entire history of the single election day. Russian citizens know and understand how important it is to participate in the life of the country and in the shaping of government bodies at different levels.

🇷🇺🇧🇷 Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Federative Republic of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva 🔸The discussion focused on current issues relating to the further growth of the Russian-Brazilian strategic partnership. The two leaders reaffirmed their mutual interest in building up political dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, agriculture, energy and industrial cooperation. 🔸Vladimir Putin said Russia was ready to provide Brazil with disaster relief to cope with the wildfires raging in several regions of Brazil 🔸They also touched upon several international issues. Vladimir Putin thanked our Brazilian partners for supporting the priorities of Russia’s BRICS chairmanship and briefed the other party on preparations for the BRICS summit in Kazan scheduled for October 22–24. Both sides underscored their commitment to continuing joint work in key areas of cooperation within BRICS, including in the financial sector. They also emphasised readiness to deepen coordination both in the G20, which Brazil chairs this year, and on other multilateral platforms. 🔸Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva reaffirmed Brazil’s interest in helping find solutions to resolve the Ukraine conflict, and Vladimir Putin laid out Russia’s principled assessments on this matter. 🔸The leaders discussed bilateral contact schedule and agreed to meet during the Kazan BRICS summit.

I am certain that it is women's commitment to cooperation and peace that makes your forum as successful and popular as it is. Every year, it draws more and more participants. This year, women leaders from 126 countries have come to St Petersburg. In addition, the discussions, which will involve many subjects, some of them contentious and sensitive, will be followed by an online audience of millions.

Organized by Russia's Federation Council and the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS member states, the Eurasian Women's Forum is the largest international forum bringing together women leaders from all continents. Over 1,500 people from 126 nations will be attending the forum this year. The 2024 EAWF is themed "Women for Strengthening Trust and Global Cooperation".
