🔴Causes of Cardiac arrest include 5Hs and 5Ts 🟠Hypovolemia > patient has injuries and hemorrhage as in car accident 🟠Hypo/hyperkalemia: Ka level hard to identify clinically but can be identified by ECG and serum level of K> normal level (3.5-5mmol/L) 🟠Hypothermia: usually occurs in pediatrics and geriatrics 🔴All patients with cardiac arrest have acidosis and shock 🟠Tension pneumothorax > occurs in patient with chest trauma 🟠Cardiac tamponade > patient with Major car accidents 🟠Toxins > as organophosphorus poisoning and opioids ( you should take a good history to know) 🔴🔴The movement Should be at shoulder level not Elbow level 🔴🔴Advanced life support Composed of 6 personnel - 2 for chest compression - 1 for DC - 1 for Airway management - 1 for IV line and drugs - 1 is a leader 🔴🔴Polymorphic VT one of important signs of hypomagnesemia 🟠When using DC remember 5S 1) sedation 2) synchronisation But no need for sedation and synchronisation in CPR because patient is already loss of consciousness 3) safety (everybody around the victim should be cleared) 4) select joule 5) shock deliver After shocking the patient and you made chest compression for 2 min Check : 1) heart sound by stestecope 2) Rhythm on ECG 🔴Shockable rhythm has better prognosis than non shockable rhythm Precordial fist is useful in case of No DC is available and patient has shockble rhythm Generate almost 50-60 Joule 🔴🔴In pulsless electrical activity > ECG may be normal but with No Cardiac Output Explanation: Heart generate electrical activity but very weak to be effective to make myocardium contract 🔴No need to DC in non shockable rhythm 🔴🔴 adrenaline 1mg is given IV Not Intracardiac 🔴🔴Drugs used in CPR مهم جدا لازم تعرفها
