অচিরেই ছাত্র জনতা হত্যার বিচার শুরু হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন অন্তবর্তী সরকারের আইন উপদেষ্টা আসিফ নজরুল। জানান, এরপরই ভারতের কাছে বন্দী বিনিময় চুক্তি অনুযায়ী শেখ হাসিনাকে ফেরত চাইবে বাংলাদেশ। বিকেলে সংস্কার কমিশনের প্রধানদের সঙ্গে প্রধান উপদেষ্টার বৈঠক শেষে আইন উপদেষ্টা বলেন, ৩১ ডিসেম্বরের মধ্যে রিপোর্ট দিবে প্রস্তাবিত সংস্কার কমিশনগুলো। সবার অংশগ্রহণের মধ্য দিয়ে সুষ্ঠু নির্বাচনের পাশাপাশি, কিছু প্রয়োজনীয় সংস্কারে এই কমিশনগুলো কাজ শুরু করেছে বলেও জানান প্রধান উপদেষ্টার বিশেষ সহকারী মাহফুজ আলম। Asif Nazrul, Legal Adviser of the Interim Government, said that the trial of the killing of the students will begin soon.
