The sophisticated attack was carried out by Israel. — Attention has now shifted to Iran. — Among those injured was Iran's Ambassador to Beirut, Mojtaba Amani, who had been using a pager device used by Hezbollah members. He had severe injury to his eyes & reportedly lost his eyesight. — Reports also indicate that 19 members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard were killed by similar explosions in Deir ez-Zor, Syria. — The ambassador's use of the pager, along with Iran's ties to Hezbollah, raises questions about whether the pagers, supplied from Hungary, were delivered to Hezbollah with or without Iran's knowledge. — If the devices were provided with Iran's approval but without proper security checks, this would represent a significant breach. Estimates suggest that Iran provides Hezbollah with annual funding ranging from $100 million to as much as $200 million, depending on various geopolitical factors and Hezbollah's operational needs. — Iran's support encompasses both cash and material goods, including weapons. Iranian cargo planes regularly deliver sophisticated weaponry to Hezbollah, facilitating its military operations against Israel and other adversaries. This incident follows the assassination of Hamas leader Haniyeh by Israel in Tehran on July 31, 2024, further complicating the situation. — So far, Iran has made no official statement regarding these allegations. If Iran's role in supplying the pagers is confirmed, it would suggest that Mossad has infiltrated high levels of Iran’s power structure.
