There’s been a bit of a resurgence of people checking out the video’s recently, don’t know why, but I guess these things are cyclical depending on what narrative is currently circulating. Someone also reached out and said some nice things on Twitter and it got me thinking about the period when they were made and how looking back I don’t really understand how it was possible to turn around virtually a video a week for so long, that doesn’t seem fathomable anymore. But I think it was to do with being radicalised by the things I was seeing and hearing and regurgitating it all in some form as a way to make sense of things. Now I just have the overriding sense of “knowing enough” and the path ahead being much clearer, so the motivation and thirst isn’t really there in the same way. I stand by the fact that this stuff that was regurgitated came from a real place and didn’t turn into some alt-media cash grab or a desire to become some sort of counter cultural advert. RE: UK situation and discussions around arrests relating to online communications: UK Online Safety Act commenced 2019, full implementation expected 2026. The sticking point being Section 122 which would demand service providers scan online communications (bypassing, or banning encryption). Essentially the powers that be need to manufacture consent and legal precedent for mass online surveillance in order to achieve the goal.
