While the whole world is discussing the situation with the arrest of Telegram founder P. Durov in France, we are doing a sum up of the big TON (Telegram’s main cryptocurrency) meetup in Yerevan last week which I hosted. Almost 220 representatives of the IT and fintech sectors, founders of large projects, and guests from different countries gathered in the new high-quality location (AI9/Openhaus). The event began with an introductory speech by Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Economy Narek Teryan, who expressed Armenia’s interest in creating offline incubators for local programmers and supported initiatives and initiatives to attract international players. Creation of Ton Ventures was announced with a capital of 40 million USD and Ton Nest program for mentoring developers. The first panel was held in Russian, moderated by Sergey Baloyan @the_baloyan founder of the x10 crypto marketing agency, and the speakers were George Galoyan @georgegaloyan - Founder of CaptainsBayBot ; TON ambassador in Spain and Portugal, TON Syndicate member, Eldar Khayretdinov - founder of Fanton and ex Head of P2E games at Sber, David - Operational director of Cryptus - we discussed trends in Telegram and TON and in the field as a whole, the potential of Tap2Earn and challenges for new projects. Shortly after, a panel was held in English with 2 speakers from the world of classical finances, who voiced the position of their field on cooperation with crypto projects and digital finance - Andranik Mnatsakanyan from Visa and David Davtyan from Incore. Then there was a contest for visitors, a big speech by Eldar about Fanton and marketing elements for projects, as well as large-scale networking with snacks and drinks indoors, and in the open, park part, Openhaus. I hope that in the near future we will come to the realization of idea of creating an offline incubator with a system of workshops and venture capital in Armenia in cooperation with Ton which will bring new opportunities to our country from our modest but fast developing sphere:) Link for photos is here

18.08 Yerevan will host the third big event with TON - Ton Meetup Armenia: Mass adoption and opportunities in Armenia The current event will take place in a new startup campus with its own restaurant, cafe and coworking (place called AI9), aimed at creating a favorable ecosystem for startups and technology companies in the region. The supported languages of the event are Russian, English and Armenian. You are expected to communicate with representatives of the Ton Foundation, a presentation of the Ton ecosystem, a discussion of the possibilities of The Open Network, a presentation of projects on TON and MiniApps, a presentation of community members and guests, as well as networking and pleasant bonuses from TON, as well as details on creating a Ton Hub in the region, representatives of large IT companies and the government. There will be panel discussions in Russian and English, as well as a quiz contest. The event will be held with the official support of the Ton Foundation and the Ton Society.
