The deaths of Gojo and Sukuna present a deep contrast, revealing their different natures and what they mean to the world around them. Gojo a symbol of hope and strength, departs from life, leaving a deep sense of loss and despair. His death is striking not just because we lose the most powerful sorcerer but also because it breaks the belief in the invincibility of good. Gojo dies as a hero, protecting his friends and students, even though his powers fall short. His death underscores the tragedy and profound sorrow, highlighting the fragility of even the mightiest. In stark contrast Sukuna meets his end fully aware of his own dark power and role in the world. Always acting in his own interests and reveling in destruction, Sukuna faces his death without regret. His departure is seen as a relief from the evil that caused so much chaos and destruction. Unlike Gojo's death which evokes deep grief, Sukuna's death brings a sense of relief as if an ancient curse has been lifted. Despite this Sukuna leaves with pride, refusing to admit defeat, highlighting his unyielding nature. They met their end just as they lived and related to others. I’m sure Gege did a great job handling this. — link.

I understand why chapter 268 might not have appealed to some, but if you stop viewing it through the lens of expectations and the usual image we had of Sukuna, his death reflects the consequences of how he treated others and how he saw everyone. Throughout his existence, he only acknowledged himself and looked down on everyone else, relishing in the moment of their death or the destruction of their ideologies. His arrogance and low opinion of those around him led to this ending. He wasn’t cautious; even in critical moments, he thought, "Yuji isn’t dangerous, I can handle it this way," and he kept thinking like that until the very end, leading to his final outcome.

It’s actually quite amusing. It’s officially stated that Utahime’s stress is due to Gojo and that she hates him, but Gojo thinks it’s all a joke. It also shows a trait of Gojo, that he himself is like this and assumes that if he annoys people jokingly, then they must be
