A Rare Oral Transmission from Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche Sunday, September 29th, New York: 10am EDT (Online) On Sunday, September 29th, Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche will be offering the oral transmission, or lung, for an incredibly clear text of Dzogchen that Guru Rinpoche Padmasambhava and Yeshe Tsogyal sealed in the eighth century. The text was rediscovered by an emanation of Yudrak Nyingpo, one of Guru Rinpoche’s twenty-five disciples, Deshek Lingpa (1956-2020), also known as Tulku Lhatsam or Tertön Padma Jigme Dorje who was the abbot of both Dogongma (a branch of Katok monastery) and Dogabma monasteries in Golok. The text is The Natural Openness and Freedom of the Mind. We just released a translation of this text which includes an extensive commentary by Khangsar Tenpa’i Wangchuk, one of the most revered Nyingmapa lamas of the twentieth century whose entire collected works the Padmakara Translation Group is translating and we are in the process of publishing.  The root text itself numbers about twenty-two pages in English and covers much of the same ground as Jigme Lingpa’s Yeshe Lama.   While simply receiving the transmission of such a text is considered a great blessing, please note that, in addition to receiving the lung, the personal guidance of a qualified Dzogchen teacher is essential if you wish to actually study and practice it. https://www.shambhala.com/jigme-khyentse-rinpoche-transmission/
