It is being widely reported that Mossad packed the pagers with explosives before delivering them to Hezbollah operatives.

Lebanon bans pagers and walkie-talkies on flights The General Directorate of Civil Aviation says the ban applies to both checked luggage and carry-on items, with officials warning any such devices will be confiscated. At least 14 killed and 450 injured in a second day of explosions, this time from inside walkie talkies, taking place across Lebanon.
