Two men died following a fire at a Kaki Bukit industrial building on Sept 19.

I've been getting a lot of texts and calls about the fire at Synergy@Kaki Bukit where my workshop is located. Thankfully, my team and I are okay, Alhamdulillah. Sadly, the unit above us caught fire, and two people lost their lives. π
There's a video of me going around on social media, and I'm getting criticized for it (kena kecam musibot ππ). Just so you know, I did what I thought was necessary until the fire engine arrived. My supervisor and I tried to spray water at the front, but the smoke was too thick, and we couldn't see anything. Then we tried from the back. I know it was dangerous to stand on the ledge, but in situations like this, we don't always think clearly. My generation tends to take risks instead of just filming first. π

A man who was caught in a viral video defecating at the entrance of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (MBS) was fined S$400 by a court on Thursday (Sep 19).
Indian national Ramu Chinnarasa, 37, pleaded guilty to one count of defecating in a public place under the Environmental Public Health (Public Cleansing) Regulations.
The court heard that Ramu, who was in Singapore on a work permit, drank three bottles of hard liquor on Oct 29 last year.
Heavily intoxicated, he entered the casino at MBS in the wee hours of the next day to gamble.
He left the casino at about 5.20am on Oct 30, 2023.
Still intoxicated, Ramu felt the urge to relieve himself but could not locate a toilet in his drunken state.

A 60-year-old male driver will be charged in court on 18 September 2024 for his suspected involvement in a case of dangerous driving.
On 26 July 2024 at about 7.17 pm, the 60-year-old man was driving a car along Yishun Avenue 1 towards Yishun Avenue 8. He allegedly failed to conform to the red-light signal at the pedestrian crossing and almost hit a pedestrian who was crossing the road. Fortunately, the pedestrian noticed the car and managed to stop in time. There were also other pedestrians crossing the road as the pedestrian light was green.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from the Traffic Police (TP) established the identity of the driver.
The offence of dangerous driving under Section 64(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1961 carries a fine up to $5,000, jail term up to 12 months, or both. In the case of a second or subsequent conviction, the offence carries a fine up to $10,000, a jail term up to two years, or both. Offenders may also face disqualification from driving all classes of vehicles.
TP takes a stern view of motorists who engage in egregious driving behaviour. TP will not hesitate to take firm action against motorists who choose to flout traffic laws and endanger the safety of other road users.
