Four performers will use various circus genres — acrobatics, juggling, diabolo, and modern dance — to explore the past two years: tell their stories of emigration and ask themselves: 'What will I find in my suitcase, and will it help me continue my journey in a new world, or will it leave me frozen in anticipation?' Upsala Circus is a contemporary circus for both children and adults, using creativity and experimentation to highlight important for society topics. A new beautiful murrrral on Nometņu street, created by the artist Ēriks Caune.

Experimental music festival Skaņu Mežs will take a place on October 4-5 at Hanzas Perons.

It will include 20 performances, 3 sound art installations, and 7 lectures or workshops. Prominent guests include iconic experimental electronics duo Autechre, abstract hip-hop group Armand Hammer, guitar innovator Fred Frith, and prominent composers Jennifer Walshe and Raven Chacon.

On August 26th the city planning event Mad City will take a place at Forum Cinemas. This year’s topic: what’s going on with city centre? The coolest speaker in the program and my main reason for attending the event — speaker Hirvi Severi from Helsinki Central Library Oodi.

Oodi — the public library, that was created for everyone, they call it a public guest room. Within its walls, there are numerous spaces designed to inspire people to express themselves and acquire new knowledge. These spaces include a library, a children's playroom, workspaces, meeting rooms, PlayStation gaming zones, large-format and 3D printers, sewing machines, and many more. The project was created in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Helsinki's independence, and, once again, the entire area is open to everyone, completely free of charge.
