$CHEQ $DOCK Token Merger Approved An Alliance for Decentralised Identity Adoption The token merger between Dock and cheqd has been officially approved, marking a significant milestone in our collaboration to create a comprehensive software stack for decentralised identity (DID). While the two will remain separate entities, Dock will focus on the issuance and monetisation of verifiable credentials, while cheqd will advance network layer payment and trust infrastructure. Dock's existing and future transactions will migrate to the cheqd blockchain, enhancing functionality and operational continuity. As part of the merger, $DOCK tokens will be swapped for $CHEQ tokens at a predetermined ratio, with unclaimed tokens likely to be burned to reinforce cheqd's deflationary model. This merger saw overwhelming support from both communities, with 100% approval from voters. The merger is set to boost network activity, increasing $CHEQ's utility by driving more identity transactions across its infrastructure. This integration strengthens both ecosystems, with over 100,000 community members and numerous active partners, positioning them as leaders in the self-sovereign identity (SSI) market. The migration process is set to begin in Q4, with both teams working closely to ensure a seamless transition. The merger signals a major step towards the future of secure, decentralised identity. Founding Member of GAN We are excited to announce that Global Acceptance Network (GAN) is making its first public appearance today and cheqd has joined as one of its founding members. At cheqd, we believe that GAN represents a pivotal advancement in building a trustworthy, decentralised digital ecosystem. The internet’s current infrastructure lacks a trust layer, resulting in ongoing issues like fraud, phishing, and privacy breaches. GAN aims to resolve these issues by providing a universal trust framework that can support cross-ecosystem verifiable data exchange, making interactions safer, more private, and efficient. cheqd has joined GAN because it aligns with our mission to create interoperable digital trust ecosystems. GAN's vision of providing a "DNS for Trust" is key to fostering seamless, secure, and scalable trust relationships across digital spaces. This will allow us to accelerate the adoption of verifiable credentials and decentralised identity solutions, making the internet more secure. We see immense potential for GAN to revolutionise industries such as healthcare, by securely exchanging patient records across borders, and finance, where it can streamline KYC/AML processes while ensuring compliance. In the supply chain sector, GAN can provide transparency in the origin of materials, enable product passports, and facilitate trade finance across global markets. Another exciting prospect is frictionless travel, enabling a seamless, secure experience across various regions and providers. For cheqd, GAN can amplify the reach of our decentralised identity solutions by providing a standardised infrastructure for data exchange across diverse ecosystems. This creates opportunities for collaboration and innovation, opening up new business models and enhancing user experiences. GAN’s nonprofit governance model ensures neutrality and inclusivity, providing a trust layer for the internet that encourages collaboration while allowing ecosystems to evolve independently. This combination of structure and freedom makes GAN a groundbreaking initiative that we are proud to support. We look forward to contributing to GAN’s vision and building a more secure and interconnected digital future. Learn more here

What Dock Has Been Building - Nick Lambert Dock has been on a long research and development journey, focusing on building an issuance and verification platform over the past three to four years. The platform allows companies, especially those in the identity and KYC spaces, to issue and verify verifiable credentials. One of the platform’s unique features is the ability for companies to create ecosystems by inviting trusted parties they already work with to collaborate on credential issuance and verification. This ecosystem-building capability stands out in the industry. cheqd is thrilled to partner with Dock to deliver the most feature-complete software stack for decentralised ID.
