A quick summary of my take on voting in the U.S. We're not going to get leftism through voting. But voting isn't *completely* pointless as some leftists might say. I understand why there's so much discourse and frustration around this, but there is one small difference this makes. The thing you're voting for as a leftist is which party you'd rather do other leftist work under. You're voting for the conditions you will be doing grassroots efforts, community work, whatever else under. Even if you don't do praxis, even if you don't agitate, educate, organize, etc... you're still voting for the conditions that people who DO indeed do these things will be doing leftist work under. Harris admin will be a *bit* less hard on leftists, queers, etc. That's about it. Dems still suck for us, but they will suck less than Trump. That's about it. If you're not doing any leftist work, please consider it if you're in any place to do so. But also, praxis and voting aren't mutually exclusive. Plenty of leftists vote, and that doesn't make them fake leftists, we just understand that we're voting for the conditions that other leftist work will be done under. It's nothing deeper than that for me anyways, as I'm under no delusion that any of these politicians will do any significant good for us. The dems appropriate the results of work that leftist movements have already achieved. And it's better to have the party that appropriates us than the party that wants to genocide us.
