#Infact 8 FEDCHENKO - THE ARCTIC OF CENTRAL ASIA🏔 Today's glaciers are the main source of fresh water. One of them is the Fedchenko glacier in the Pamir mountains. Moreover, such glaciers are rarely found in mountains around the world. It is 72 km long, 1,000 m (It is even higher than the highest building on our planet - "Burj Khalifa" 828m) thick in the middle part, and 1,700-3,100 m wide. Can you imagine?!😮 The lower part of the Fedchenko glacier was studied by V. F. Oshanin in 1878, and the middle and upper parts were first studied by the Pamir expedition in 1928. The glacier is named after A.P. Fedchenko.📌 More | Google Earth🌍

World Aral Region Charity has added eco-theater as a new project to their May Ecological Trip in Uzbekistan. This trip provides a unique opportunity for volunteers to work with schools in rural areas and develop eco-projects with children. But what sets this trip apart is the added dimension of eco-theater production. Eco-theater is an innovative and interactive approach to raising awareness about environmental issues. It involves using community interactions and theater to empower young people in ecological advocacy and educate them about our relationship with the environment. Through this project, young people will be able to use their creativity and imagination to convey important messages about the Aral Sea crisis and the impact of human activity on the environment. By bringing theater and community interactions into the mix, volunteers will be able to raise awareness about these critical issues and inspire others to take action. If you missed the March trip, now's your chance to join this amazing opportunity to make a difference. And if you can't join us on the trip, you can still support us by sponsoring a volunteer. Help us empower young people to become eco-advocates and raise awareness about the importance of protecting our planet. Let's come together and make a positive change for our planet! Click the link in our bio to sign up or learn more.

Dear Aral Sea, I cannot believe it’s true… I cannot believe in my eyes; as if all of this is a nightmare… Where’s your azure sea? All I see is disaster and black, No matter how hard we try, You seem not to want to come back… You were inspiration and a source of life, With nutritious fish and animal kingdom, What do you actually want from us? Sometimes peace, and sometimes strife… We continue believing that you’ll come back, You’re so strong to bounce it back, I am very uncertain, but I just hope… And it is totally free to dare to hope! Please come back, My dear, Aral! #poetrybyme #poetryislife #Aralsea

Our project is on a local TV channel🎉 As we successfully did our WARC March project and installed the water irrigation system in Turtkul, more and more mass media gave an interest in us, and the contribution we had been bringing to the community. One example would be the broadcast on the national TV channel, "Qaraqalaqstan I MTRK". It is about a quick introduction to the project and how the system worked to bring clean water. We are happy that the project is being spread among officials and locals to raise awareness about the importance of clean water and how collaboration like WARC volunteers can make impact on the lives of many, if not hundreds. So, if you missed the chance to join us in March, don't miss the opportunity this time to be a part of this international organization and make a difference! Telegram | Instagram | Website

🗓Timelapse of Aral Sea If there is a cautionary tale for Lake Urmia and other shrinking lakes, it is the Aral Sea located between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. A 1960s project to divert water throughout the region succeeded in growing cotton and other crops in the desert, but it decimated the Aral Sea. Industry depending on the sea collapsed, and the remaining water became polluted. Dust storms containing polluted sediment from the south Aral Sea have become increasingly common, and pose a public health risk in the region. With Google Earth you can travel through time and space!💯 Google Earth - Landsat, Copernicus, Maxar technologies. 🌎

Highlights from the March Ecological Trip, 2023 On March 27, 2023, a team of WARC volunteers from different countries installed a water filtration system in School #47 in Janbaskala, Turtkul. Over three days, volunteers installed water filters as well as facilitated educational sessions on ecological journalism, sustainable engineering, and effective monitoring. It's worth mentioning that local students enjoyed the practical class on drip line irrigation the most - this was a part of the 'Sustainable Engineering Session Series' led by TIIAME student Mr. Khushnudbek. This eco trip definitely stood out from previous WARC trips - thanks to the amazing hospitality of the school administration who supported WARC members on all fronts. Volunteers also enjoyed the cultural events arranged by local students tremendously. A heartfelt thanks to the school administration, volunteers, donors, and students who contributed to the success of this ecological trip! Stay tuned for more insights on our ecological trips. And don't miss out on the opportunity to be part of our next ecological trip in May. Join us as we work to create a positive impact. Sign up now for our May eco trip! We wrapped up the first stage of Eco-Service schools in Janbasqala. Five days of action. We installed a filter- which will give FREE water to all 5,000 residents of the community. We installed a model drip-irrigation system for the school orchard and we led a training in eco-activism and project development. We can’t wait to pick up where we left off in May.

🌊 Today is the International Aral Sea day 🌊 On this day in 1993, the presidents of the Central Asian republics signed the Joint Actions Agreement to save the Aral Sea. Sadly, the Aral Sea, once a thriving ecosystem, is shrinking at an alarming rate. As a result, the region has suffered devastating consequences, from the loss of biodiversity to toxic dust storms. It's not just the environment that's been impacted; the people and communities that rely on the sea for their livelihoods and well-being have been affected, too. 😢 But there are things we can all do to help. One of the most important steps we can take is to support sustainable water management practices. By using eco-friendly products 🌿 and advocating for environmental policies 🌍, we can all make a difference in protecting the Aral Sea and other natural resources. If you're wondering how to get involved, join our ecological trip🌳.For further information, click on this link .
