⚔️ The Indo-Europeans, Aristocratic Individualism & the Faustian Spirit Over three billion people today, distributed across every continent, claim an Indo-European language as their mother-tongue. From 5 milllennia ago, the warbands of the Proto-Indo-European people spread out across Eurasia from their home in the Pontic Steppe north of the Black Sea. They left no annals of their conquests, no mythical conquerors to remember, but their legacy remains in the language and blood of billions. These were the Aryans. For decades, we could only speculate on a hypothetical origin population of the Indo-European languages. Modern developments in genetic science have revealed the story of a series of explosions of populations out of the Steppe, movements where these conquerors often replaced entire populations in the new lands they conquered: "In vast regions of Northern Europe, the Bronze Age steppe herders replaced earlier farming societies, the invaders unceremoniously sweeping away all before them, which often meant the extermination of indigenous male-dominated elites." With technological innovations like the domestication of horses, the development of wagons, and the “secondary products revolution” in which domesticated animals were used not only for meat but products like dairy and leather (lactose tolerance is another marker of PIE expansion), they spread to the outer reaches of Europe. To this day, 80-90% of Irish men carry their DNA. Contrary to the belief the Irish had descended mostly from Celts, they and other populations like the Scots are actually descendants of the first waves of PIE expansion. The Indo-European spirit is the root of the "Faustian" spirit of Europe: aggressive, restless, daring, innovative -- the spirit of a warlike people expanding out of the great steppe: a “uniquely aristocratic people dominated by emerging chieftains for whom fighting to gain prestige was the allpervading ethos. This culture is interpreted as ‘the Western state of nature’ and as the primordial source of Western restlessness.” The militarised culture of Indo-Europeans favoured an aristocratic individualism, where leadership was determined by competence and heroism. Leaders had to answer to their followers in a way despots did not, they were "first among equals" rather than the absolutist kings and chieftains found in other cultures. With the fall of Afrikaner nationalism, Afrikaner political power rapidly began to evaporate. the NP disappeared and was replaced by an Anglo-led liberal opposition as the representatives for racial minorities. The general population became, on the political level, gripped by bitter defeatism. But this opened the way for AfriForum and Solidariteit, who in 2006 and 1997 respectively, began the journey toward a more radical notion of political power - non-democratic but voluntary, non-statist but security-oriented, private but non-profit. This has grown into an enormous movement of hundreds of thousands of members, representing the majority of Afrikaner households through one subsidiary organisation or other. They are an inherently cautious, piecemeal movement, which seeks to solve specific material issues, and have had impressive success in curtailing farm murders, improving neighbourhood security, defending language rights, and providing poverty relief and shielding against infrastructure decay. By building new universities and schools, maintaining a powerful labour union and internal jobs market, and having a close interaction with the Orania movement, they have established the groundwork for a new parallel state, all on the basis of voluntary membership and donations. [The Solidariteit] Movement’s unstated veto power can not only be wielded against parliamentary and executive power, but even juristic power, which means that all three branches of the government must deal with Afrikaner objections in good faith, or risk the collapse of the entire state.‍ This is the difference between the empty promises of the DA and the real and unspoken power of the Afrikaner nation - by refusing the mudslinging nightmare of party politics in a hostile environment for practical, almost engineer-minded institutional construction, the Afrikaners have achieved the reforms that were only tentatively attempted by their predecessors.

📱 The government can blow up your smartphone Just know that your smart phone has a lot more potential power than an old pager. Here is a video of an iPhone being induced to explode. Some people don’t think it’s possible for a phone to explode in this way without the external power source. I’m not so sure of that. Whether or not it is possible to remotely hack a device and overload it in such a way to make the thermal runaway happen explosively is very much up for debate. I can say for certain that it is possible in some use cases with similar form factor battery designs. I would also say that if this is known to phone and battery manufacturers, they will go above and beyond to keep that quiet, and for good reason. People think that when li-ion batteries overheat they simply melt, but it’s all a matter of how fast the reaction happens. For instance, in cylindrical cell EV batteries, often the mitigation tactic to surround the cells in a medium that will slow, not stop the reaction. When a cell like that goes off, there really isn’t anything you can do to stop it. In the case of a mobile device, they control this problem with a series of failsafes and fuses. My questions is what happens if you can remotely bypass those? Can you remotely bypass them? If you can, then I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility that you could rapidly overclock a battery and get an explosion. 🔗 Stephen Stone
