Blood and Faith

The Louisiana White League published a poem out of their newspaper, the Opelousas Courier, providing us with access to the politics and culture of the League. In its July 4, 1874 edition, the newspaper published a poem entitled, appropriately considering the day, The Spirit of ’76. The poem would foresee a day when Whites took back control over reconstruction.

During the Estonian War of Independence in 1919, Estonians liberated Pskov and held a proud victory parade there. The people of Pskov were moved to tears, blessing and thanking the Estonian troops for liberating them from the Communists' reign of terror.

Estonian aid. Among the liberators of Pskov, the Estonian Republic troops were the first to enter the city, welcomed with joy by the entire population. At that time Colonel Bulak-Balakhovich was driving the Communist regiments north of Pskov, preventing them from retreating on the city and thus saving the population from the last bloody violence. The service of the sons of the Estonian people to the liberating Russian people will remain forever in our memory. Our fervent gratitude will not be limited to words. We remember well the help given by the Estonian government to the North Russian Army during its formation and up to the last moment. May the Russian friendship with the Estonian people continue to be real and sincere. We shake hands firmly with the heroes of the Estonian people who are now in the defense of Pskov. “New Russia”. 103 years ago, the most mysterious of the White movement, Baron Ungern, was killed🇪🇪🇷🇺🇩🇪 September 15, 1921, Roman Fyodorovich von Ungern-Sternberg was killed. Ungern was publicly executed by the Bolsheviks. The Bolsheviks held a show trial of him in the summer theater of the city of Novonikolaevsk (now Novosibirsk). During the trial, Ungern, surrounded by enemies, emphasized his anti-Bolshevik views and his ideas. The verdict was carried out in the house of the merchant Mashtakov. The baron's burial place is unknown.
