We have a very cool briefing project in the pipeline. Explaining a little more about things like this and other really cool discoveries. A very very cold and oddly pointed front was advancing towards the UK early Sunday morning (15.09.24) If you look closely you can see a mass of trails in the tail. The dry ice added from the UK (see clip I posted Saturday 14.09.24) to this already dry ice heavy front, sucked up all the moisture as it swept over the UK during Sunday/Sunday night (1st picture). By Monday morning most of the moisture had been removed, leaving very clear and 'dry' skies the next day over the large part of the country. Ideal air in which to disperse gas. Arsine gas sticks to moisture and then remains suspended in the air (clouds, trails etc). Without moisture it drops to breathing level. Early Monday morning we had trails which then moved off, and the same again Tuesday morning. These seemed to circulate, then were gathered in to a system in the North Sea parallel to Iceland. To the right of the cold system (blue) sweeping over the UK you can see the air is very dry (red). Monday (16.09.24) you can see there is significantly more reddish tint over the UK, indicating a much more dry atmosphere. Again good for gas dispersal. It was less red yesterday (17.09.24) which is why some of us could physically see the gas being bound by moisture in the air, leaving small non spreading trails.
